We are Burt and Cindi Vimont and we are the parents of nine children, six of our own and three adopted. We are also blessed with nine grandchildren.
Burt is a retired helicopter pilot that served in Vietnam. Cindi is a stay at home mom and the organizer of our large, busy family. We worked and lived in Saudi Arabia for 30 years, 18 years of which were spent as youth leaders of a Protestant church. We conducted weekly meetings, youth activities, Bible lessons, weekend outings, and camping trips for all age groups. We have housed and supported college aged youth workers each summer for full time ministry for our youth in the community in Saudi, many of these students have gone on to become full time Chi Alpha leaders and missionaries that we proudly support.
We have always felt a calling to run a camp. When we retired from the Middle East, we wanted to continue our ministry wherever we settled. We purchased a small ranch near La Grange, Texas and started construction on our vision as soon as we unpacked our boxes. Our children have lovingly supported our dreams and helped us carefully sculpt our land, acre by acre, and project by project, into the Camp Eternal we have today. This was truly a family effort. We are blessed beyond measure to spend our days teaching Christ to the many children and adults that frequent our facilities. God is so good.
We believe the whole Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, as the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God. Jesus Christ was born of Mary the Virgin, and is the Son of God, and God the Son. We believe that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, the Just for the unjust that He might bring us to God. He arose from the grave the third day according to the scriptures. We believe that He, only, is the great High Priest, and we need not the intercession of any man, but that Christ ever lives to make intercession for us. Christ will come again in Person bodily, visibly, to establish His Kingdom on the earth. In order to be saved, the soul must be born again — “Ye must be born again.” We believe that every truly born again soul should declare his faith by the act baptism, (immersion in water) setting forth the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection. The church is a body of baptized believers whose only mission is, not to “reform the world,” but to preach and teach the Word of God to the individual soul.
